Mississippi Backwaters / Guided Kayak Tours and Group Rentals

The Merry Green Marvel is in our third season of offering guided kayak tours of the Mississippi Backwaters near DeSoto, WI. Experience the diversity of life in these calm waters as we make our way around these islands and sloughs braided by the waters of the great Mississippi. In a typical tour we often see Eagles, Great Blue Heron, Turtles and various water fowl. Occasionally beaver and muskrats show their faces! We have two tours on Saturdays and Sundays running now until early October. It’s approximately a three hour tour for $50/person. Inquire for group bookings and rentals of both kayaks and canoes. You can make a private group booking that customizes the tour to your group needs by reaching out to Steve at 608-632-6325 or Steve@merrygreenmarvel.org. For example we recently had a family that wanted to do a tour with their elderly mother who was not able to paddle. We adapted to this need by creating a comfortable seat for her in a canoe and paddled her through the tour while the rest of the family paddled in kayaks.
